MARCO 2015 Annual Meeting Announcement

The following is initial information for those planning to attend MARCO’s 2015 Annual Meeting.

When: Friday, 3/20/2015 through Saturday, 3/21/2015. Attendees should plan to arrive on Thursday, 3/19 and depart on Sunday, 3/22. The hotel will extend the meeting rate for those wishing to stay up to several days beyond 3/22.

Hotel Information: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach. The room rate is $169/night. The hotel is located a short cab ride approximately 7 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport and is adjacent to the King Harbor Marina and Torrance Beach, a scenic location with a number of easily accessible restaurants and delightful beach walkway, “The Strand”. The hotel address is 300 N Harbor Dr, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.

  • For online reservations, go to Marco Annual Meeting. Enter check-in date, check out date, etc.Click on room rates and the room block should come up for you to select.
  • For telephone reservations, call 310-318-8888 or 800-368-9760 and ask for the rate for the MARCO Annual Meeting or give the group code, “MA9”.

Tentative schedule: The business meeting will be held on Friday morning at 0830 at the Western Museum of Flight in Torrance: http://www.wmof.com/.  A continental breakfast is planned. Friday afternoon will be free time, and a list of Southern California activities will be provided in your “goodie bag” upon arrival. We will gather as a group for dinner at a local restaurant.

On Saturday, as a group activity, all attendees are invited to a guided tour of the Nethercutt Museum and Collection, a spectacular facility displaying a huge and immaculate collection of vintage automobiles, antique and functional automated musical instruments (including a stunning pipe organ), and many other valuable items. Transportation to the Nethercutt will be arranged based upon the number wishing to attend. Attendance is free. Finally, of course, the meeting banquet will be held on Saturday evening, with location and program to be announced.
